The law is complex and confusing to many. This information booklet has been updated to reflect the changes to the Family Law Act 1975 (Cth) which came into effect on 6 May 2024.
Its purpose is to provide information to parents about the Family Law Act 1975 (Cth) and the Federal Circuit Family Court of Australia. It is hoped that the parties will make a genuine attempt to resolve all issues, without the need for expensive litigation. It has been prepared by Eugenia Matthews of Matthews Lawyers, in collaboration with Samuel Sarris.
